Figuring Your Grade (Or What Do I Need to make on the Final?)

Lecture Activity Total A:_____ (Maximum of 60 pts. You will have opportunity for more pts.)

For example, Chris earned 45 points. For Lecture Activity Total, Chris writes 45 pts.

Exam Total B:_____pts. (Sum of the three exam grades. Remember! Points not percent)

For example, Chris' exams were as follows:

Exam 1: 58 pts.

Exam 2: 77 pts.

Exam 3: 82 pts.

Chris writes 217 pts.

Lab: Calculate the percent of total points earned thus far in lab.

____% (For example, Chris has 304 pts of 350 possible so far: 304/350 = 87%)

Multiply percent as a decimal times total possible lab points for the semester (410) to estimate lab pts.

Lab estimate C: _____pts.

For example, Chris figures 0.87(410) = 357 pts.

Estimated Total Without Final Exam D:___pts. (Sum of A + B + C)

For example, Chris' sum (45 + 217 + 357) = 619 pts.

Grade That is Possible: An 'A' requires 900 pts; a 'B' requires 800 pts; a 'C' requires 700 pts; a 'D' requires 600 pts.

Grade You Desire E: ____ points necessary

For example, Chris wants an 'A': 900 points necessary

Additional Points Needed F: _____ (E - D)

For example, Chris figures (900 -619), thus needs 281 pts.

Final Exam is worth 210 pts. Determine percent needed on the Final G: ____% (F/210)

For example, Chris discovers 281/210 = 134%. Chris cannot make an 'A.' How about a B?
